Desktop Machine Shop Reopening Announcement!
We are delighted to announce that Desktop Machine Shop (DMS) is officially ready to reopen its doors! After working through the challenges brought on by recent fraud losses, we are back on track and ready to serve our amazing community once again. We couldn’t have done it without your support and patience, so thank you!
That said, we do have some bittersweet news. Jake, who has been a key part of DMS, has decided to step away from the business. He’ll be focusing on his true passions: design and development within the Millennium Machines projects. This was entirely his choice as he realized that the business side of running an online retail shop wasn’t where his heart was. We part ways on the best of terms and wish him all the success in his new ventures.
Jake was previously responsible for the warehouse operations and had found a great location in the Lake District, near his home. Unfortunately, after the fraud losses, we did not have the reserves to continue leasing that property. Given that I am based in Sheffield, a city with a rich heritage in steel and machine working industries, we’ve made the move! The entire DMS warehouse is now located in Sheffield. We successfully moved 2 tonnes of LDO kits, end mills, and accessories last weekend, and the first orders have already been shipped from this new location on Monday!
Additionally, due to high demand, we’re excited to announce that international shipping is now available! Every day we were receiving requests, so we’ve sorted out the logistics to make it possible. You should now be able to add shipping to all EU countries and many other destinations around the world automatically. Please note a few things: the price shown at checkout will have UK VAT removed, and the customer will be responsible for any import fees and duties. Make sure to check the specific charges for your country before ordering. And if you see any strange shipping prices, don’t hesitate to drop me a message, and I’ll look into it for you!
